Secret Voices and Secret Noises

Biography

Secret Voices and Secret Noises are the two projects that have moving behind them: Enrico Marani (tac, forbici di manitù, 2Blue, Duozero) e Tim Motzer (Jazzheads, Les Nubians, King Britt's Sylk 130, Kenny Lattimore, Burnt Freidman, Jaki Liebezeit, Ursula Rucker, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, David Sylvian).
Secret Voices is born summer 2004, exploring several parts of the planet. Adriano Engelbrecht, Ursula Rucker, Elliott Levin and Rich Medina are the voices defining this trip with their poetry. The Rucker-Medina pair builds a two-voice cinematic narration, drawing a female character of extraordinary poetic intensity. Drummer Jeremy Carlstedt, violinist Gloria Justen and bassist Barry Meehan put in swift appearances. The music draws from Enrico’s contemporary electronics, blended with Elliott Levin’s free jazz, Rich and Ursula’s black poetry, all immersed in the guitar sonic layerings and improvisations by Tim. The cd is called “No time for silence”, its cover is by Stefano Ricci, who drew a series of pictures inspired by these sounds, and is published in the USA by 1k recordings. In Italy is currently only available on line, for order through movingbox.
Secret Noises esplores electronics applied to dance music. With collaborators Ellie Perez and Fabrice Immovilli on vocals, Secret Noises finished this summer recordings for a 12”. Shortly the first mp3s will be on line.
